Convenience, a family atmosphere, caring staff, and a variety of activities are paramount to a senior citizen’s lifestyle, and Talamore Senior Living of St. Cloud offers all those things and more.
“I looked at six different places to live before I looked here,” said Pam L. “I knew right away this was the place I wanted to be.”
Constructed in 2020, the four-story building houses 114 assisted living and independent living apartments, and 24 memory care apartments conveniently located near the intersection of highway 15 and West Division Street on the north outskirts of St. Cloud.
“The sense of community is amazing here,” said Josie Brenny, the Director of Sales at Talamore Senior Living. “It’s like one big family. The residents all care for each other and are willing to help each other in any way they can, and they are so welcoming to new residents.”
The community offers a variety of apartment options ranging from a two-bedroom, two-bathroom, to a studio, which is great for those who like a simpler space. Independent apartments come appointed with a full kitchen, including a dishwasher. Other features include large walk-in showers, and a washer and dryer. Assisted Living apartments also feature a full kitchen and walk-in showers.
“We were so impressed with this place that we didn’t even have to look anywhere else,” said Burt G. “We first came here when it had just opened and my (late) wife and I lived in an independent living apartment. Her health declined rapidly, so we transitioned to assisted living services without having to move apartments. The staff and others living here were so helpful to both of us.”
There is a myriad of daily activities available to the residents, including worship and Bible studies, games, exercise class, live entertainment, movies, social gatherings, crafts, vitals check, holiday or personal parties, themed dinners, manicures, crafts, baking groups, happy hour, musical entertainment, service projects, outings and much more.
The community recently installed a Lucynt table in memory care which projects games and activities onto a table where residents can physically interact.
“It’s hard to get bored here,” said Burt G. “There are always some types of activities or entertainment going on for us every day.”
One of the more popular activities that was held recently was the University of Minnesota Raptor Center which entertained the seniors with various birds such as a great horned owl, red-tailed hawk and a merlin falcon.
Baby goats were also brought in recently and the smiles on the seniors’ faces as they held the animals revealed just how much they enjoyed them.
Many residents utilize the Bistro for coffee social hour to enjoy a cup of coffee while visiting with other residents. Or they can relax by the fireplace with a good book from the library.
An inviting dining room offers residents the convenience of an available three meals per day with a full-service restaurant and multiple menu options.
Dining staff prepare nutritious meals catered to various culinary needs.
For those who enjoy fresh air, Talamore offers a modern patio area with a calming fountain, garden area and firepit.
Walking paths around the community offer options for those who like to stretch their legs or walk their pet. Talamore offers convenient access to numerous shopping options, restaurants, and a nearby park. Several options for emergency and primary care are close by offering options for outside health care services. Residents also have the convenient option of on-site primary care, offering a more personalized approach of being seen in their own home.
Family members feel relieved and grateful that their parents live in a community where the staff and residents get to know one another and become like family.
“What a great place to live for seniors,” said Cathy F. “My parents have been residents for nearly four years. My siblings and I enjoy peace of mind knowing our parents have the care and support they need. The staff members are friendly, helpful and caring.”
“I moved my mother into Talamore last September as the house she was in was too big and had too many stairs,” said Leslie M. “I looked for something that was convenient for all family members to get to and had amenities she needed such as a Bluestone Physicians Nurse Practitioner, Spot Rehab, beauty shop, amazing meals and so much more. She has made new friends and loves everyone who works there. I can call anytime and they will let me know how she is doing. She is so happy and we are so grateful that she is doing so well.”
