What is the best way to spend a day in St. Cloud?

St. Cloud is located in the middle of Minnesota, and is the perfect place to spend a weekend away. So, what is the best way to spend a day in St. Cloud? Here are some ideas!

Kick off the morning with breakfast from Copper Lantern. This family- owned restaurant has been serving up homestyle classics since 1966. Enjoy hefty portions of all your favorites to get fueled up for a day of fun.

When in St. Cloud, stop by Munsinger Gardens, a beautiful destination along the Mississippi River. Contributed photo

Once you’ve had your fill, it’s time for Munsinger and Clemens Gardens. These gardens span 21 acres of land and include two areas. The upper “Clemens Gardens” is a formal flower garden with cobbled paths around water fountains, beautiful flowers, a gift shop full of unique items, and the Virginia Clemens Rose Gardens. The lower “Munsinger Gardens” has shaded paths through stunning floral beds, water features, and plenty of benches for relaxing. Munsinger also parallels the Mississippi River, with easy walking paths along the beautiful waterway to enjoy.

Now it’s time for a trip to the Stearns History Museum. This museum houses curated historic collections from Central Minnesota and beyond, as well as rotating exhibits that pay homage to the heritage of Stearns County. This museum is fun for all, and a great way to learn about the “old days” in Central Minnesota.

Do lunch at a St. Cloud area favorite: Jules’ Bistro. Located in downtown St. Cloud, the atmosphere at Jules’ is an upscale bistro meets your favorite local hangout. With a surprisingly diverse and interesting menu, you will love all of the unique eats and drinks. Make sure to try some baked goods before you leave!

It’s time for some downtown shopping. Head down the block to the Paramount Arts Gift Gallery and shop local artisans work. Check out some unique finds at Mantra Boutique. Dive into the world of tea at Spice of Life Tea Shop. Stop in to Green Thumb Etc. for a plant or snarky gift. Indulge your inner book lover with a trip to Books Revisited. And then arrive just in time for your relaxation session at Bella Vita Salt Caves. This unique spa-like treatment allows you 45 minutes of unplugged serenity as you breathe in the healing qualities of the zen-like salt caves.

Once you’re relaxed, check-in for your stay at the Courtyard by Marriott, conveniently located downtown. This beautiful hotel includes a bistro for breakfast and great views of downtown. Freshen up and head out for authentic Irish food and drinks at the beautiful Olde Brick House. We highly recommend the Reuben Rolls! Then it’s showtime at the historic Pioneer Place Theater on 5th Avenue, where concerts and plays take stage every weekend. Stop for a nightcap on your way out at The Veranda Lounge, located at the front of the Pioneer Place and serving up some fantastic drinks. Finally, return to the hotel knowing you spent the best day in St. Cloud.
